Reservations &
Things to Do
While reservations are strongly recommended for all guests, they are not required. A limited number of walk-ups will be available each day. Reservations and walk-up availability are on a first come, first served basis.
Why are reservations now recommended?
For the safety of our guests, employees, and animals, the Zoo is operating at limited capacity. To keep the number of guests in the park low, we’ve implemented a reservation system.
Tickets vs Reservations: Which do I need?
Your reservation guarantees that we hold a spot for you on your selected date. Your ticket/membership allows you to enter the park on that date.
We recommend that everyone makes a reservation for all guests in their group, even if they already have a membership or ticket.
If you don’t have a ticket already, you can either purchase one online before your visit, or chose to purchase one at the Zoo on the date of your visit.
I bought tickets — does that mean I already have an account with your reservation system?
Our ticketing system is separate from our reservation system. So, if you purchased tickets to the Zoo that doesn't necessarily mean you already have an account with our reservation system. When booking your reservation you'll have the option to create an account if it's your first time booking a reservation. If your email address has already been used to book a reservation then you may login to your existing account with your email address and password (a randomly generated password is sent to your email address after you book your first reservation).
Login to your reservations account to view your reservation history, cancel reservations, or book new reservations. You may also change your password to something easier to remember, or if you don't know your password you can request a new password from the login page.
Not sure if you've booked a reservation before? When you book a reservation you'll be asked to provide your email address. If you have already booked a reservation using that same email address then our system will recognize you and will ask you to login to your account. Otherwise, the system will create an account for you when you finalize your reservation.
If you don't know your password please reset your password using the Forgot Password link on the login page. If you attempt to login too many times with an incorrect password the system may temporarily lock you out, and you'll need to wait about 30 minutes before trying to login again.
Are reservations good for the entire day?
Yes, your reservation is good for the entire day you select. You may visit anytime between 9:30 am and 5:00 pm on your reserved date.
Are restaurants and concessions open?
Yes, but are operating at limited capacity. Public water fountains are turned off, so you are permitted to bring bottled water.
Do you still offer Signature Encounters?
Yes, Signature Encounters are still available. Some encounters have been modified and no longer include feeding or touching animals. Check our Encounters page for details.
Admission is required to participate in Signature Encounters. If you have scheduled a Signature Encounter please make a reservation for that date, and purchase your admission ticket if you don’t already have it.
Are face masks required?
ZooTampa is principally an outdoor fresh-air experience; therefore, when outside, guests who maintain proper social distancing are not required to wear face masks. Even so, every guest entering the zoo is strongly encouraged to wear a mask, and ZooTampa will provide disposable masks free of charge for anyone who needs one. Guests will be informed of indoor venues where masks are required which currently include: retail shops, bathrooms, restaurants (except while seated for dining) and Manatee Mangrove. Additionally, masks are required during our Signature Encounters, Giraffe Meet & Greet, Expedition Africa Safari Tram Ride & while in the tram queue line.
I forgot to print my tickets at home. Can I still get into the Zoo?
Yes — a printed ticket is not necessary for admittance to ZooTampa. If you have access to the confirmation email with attached tickets on your phone, or if you have your ticket barcodes saved in a mobile wallet such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay, we can scan your tickets directly from your phone.
No problem. Click the link below to view and manage your recent reservations. If you are not already signed in, you will need to sign in with the email address you used when booking the reservation. Your password was emailed to you at the time of your booking, but you can also reset your password if needed. To book a new reservation simply visit our reservations page and select an available date.
