Take action for endangered wildlife with ZooTampa. Let's keep the environment safe and clean all year round!

Join us on Saturday, May 21, for our Endangered Species Day Electronics Recycling Drive! From 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM, near Zoo School at the drive-thru area in the North Blvd parking lot, we will provide an environmentally friendly way to dispose of unwanted electronics.

So, yes, that old phone languishing in your desk drawer or garage or those holiday lights that are broken or unused could save wildlife! Cell phones and other handheld electronic devices contain a material called coltan, which is often destructively mined in Central Africa, home to many endangered species like okapi, chimpanzees, and gorillas. In addition, festive lights, which cannot decompose, leak chemicals into the soil and can possibly harm animals. So rather than throwing them in the trash, bring them to the Zoo on May 21 for our recycling event!

You can take action and make a positive impact on the natural world by recycling your electronic items and keeping them from going to a landfill.
