Electronics Recycling Drive

Recycle your electronics to save wildlife
Monday, January 18th, 2021
10 AM - 1 PM
In the North Blvd parking lot, near Zoo School

Is one of your New Year’s resolutions to find new ways to protect and preserve wildlife? Or perhaps it’s to declutter your home or work area? Well, we have just the opportunity for you to do both! Join us on Monday, January 18th, for ZooTampa’s Electronics Recycling Drive! From 10 am until 1 pm, near Zoo School in the North Blvd parking lot, we will provide an environmentally friendly way to dispose of unwanted electronics.

So, yes, that old phone languishing in your desk drawer or garage could save wildlife! Cell phones and other handheld electronic devices contain a material called coltan which is often destructively mined in Central Africa, home to many endangered species like okapis, chimpanzees, and gorillas. Recycling your old cell phones and other handheld electronic devices allows for coltan to be reused, decreasing the need for mining – an action that ultimately helps to protect habitats and save wildlife!
