Day of Discovery
ZooTampa at Lowry Park welcomes individuals with autism, their families, and others who may benefit from a sensory-friendly experience. Modifications around the Zoo will include sound adjustments and quiet zones to create an enjoyable environment for the whole family. Our goal is to create unforgettable natural connections through fun games, activities, animal mingles, and rides. In addition, families can download social stories and parent tips prior to the event at zootampa.org/visit/accessibility or CARD website.
Doors will open at 8:00 a.m. for Day of Discovery participants only, with lights and sounds adapted for individuals with sensory differences and their families. Sensory Day of Discovery ends at 9:30 a.m. and the Zoo opens for normal business hours, participants are welcome to continue exploring.
Distract packs are available at Guest Services.
This event is FREE for Zoo Members. For Non-Members, tickets are only $5 if purchased before event date and $8 on day of event. Last ticket sold onsite will be at 9am.
